Dialysis technicians are part of a healthcare team that works to improve the quality of life for patients with kidney disease. They monitor vital signs, manage dialysis parameters, and address complications.Dialysis technology is a specialized field in nephrology that focuses on the artificial process of filtering blood to remove waste and excess fluid, acting as a renal replacement therapy for patients with kidney failure.

- Operate and maintain dialysis machines: They ensure the machines are functioning correctly and set up for dialysis treatments.
- Monitor patients: They observe patients during dialysis, checking vital signs and alerting nurses or doctors to any changes in condition.
- Provide patient care: They offer emotional support, explain procedures, and educate patients about dialysis and healthcare.
- Maintain a clean and sterile environment: They clean and sterilize dialysis machines and equipment.
- Assist with blood draws and sample analysis: They may draw blood and assist with measuring blood samples to assess the effects of dialysis.
